The Rhode Island Supreme Court is responsible for the bar exam. There is no local Rhode Island content on this bar exam.
The Rhode Island bar exam, a two-day exam, consists of
- the six-hour multiple-choice Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), weighted 50%;
- one 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) problem, weighted 9%;
- six 30-minute Multistate Essay Examination (MEE) questions and
- three 30-minute Rhode Island essay questions, together weighted 41%.
The successful applicant must achieve a 130 on the MBE and achieve an aggregate scaled score of 276 on the MBE, MPT, and essays, with the MPT score weighing the same as two essay responses. Within 2 years before the bar exam, the applicant also must pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) with a scaled score of 80.

- trusts and future interests (wills, trusts, and estates)
