The Kentucky Bar exam, a two-day exam, consists of
- the six-hour Multistate Bar Examination (MBE),
- six 30-minute Multistate Essay Examination (MEE) questions, and
- six 30-minute Kentucky Essay questions.
Successful applicants must pass both the essay and the Multistate portions of the exam, with a scaled score of 132 on the MBE and 75% on the essay portion. Before taking the bar exam, applicants also must pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) with a scaled score of 75.

- civil procedure
- conflict of laws
- constitutional law
- contracts, including UCC Article 2 sales
- criminal law and procedure
- domestic relations (family law)
- estates (wills, trusts, and estates)
- evidence
- property, personal and real, including real estate finance
- taxation (federal)
- torts
- UCC Articles 1 (general provisions), 2 (sales), 3 (negotiable instruments), 9 (secured transactions)
