Nebraska
The Nebraska State Bar Commission is responsible for the Nebraska bar exam. The Nebraska Exam does not include any original local content.
The Nebraska bar exam, a 1 1/2-day exam, consists of
- the six-hour Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), wieghted 50%;
- six 30-minute Multistate Essay Examination (MEE) questions, weighted 50%.
The successful applicant must achieve a combined scaled score of 135. Applicants also must pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) with a scaled score of 85. A $100 fee is added if the applicant has not passed the MPRE before the application deadline for the Nebraska bar examination.
The following subjects may be tested on the Nebraska bar exam:
- business associations (agency & partnership, corporations, LLCs)
- civil procedure (federal)
- conflict of laws
- constitutional law
- contracts, including UCC Art. 2 sales
- criminal law and procedure
- evidence
- family law
- real property (including real estate finance)
- torts
- trusts and estates (intestate succession, wills, trusts, and future interests)
- UCC Articles 1 (general provisions), 2 (sales), 3 (negotiable instruments), 9 (secured transactions).
