Minnesota
The Minnesota State Board of Law Examiners is responsible for the Minnesota bar exam. The Minnesota Examiners publish their essay questions, along with example answers. The links to exams furnished below are from this Minnesota Examiners page.
The Minnesota Bar exam, a two-day exam, consists of
- the six-hour Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), weighted 50%;
- one 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) problem, weighted 12.5%; and
- six 45-minute Minnesota essay questions, weighted 37.5%.
The successful applicant must achieve a combined scaled score of 260. Applicants also must pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) with a scaled score of 85.
The following subjects may be tested on the Minnesota bar exam:
- business organizations (partnerships, proprietorships, corporations, and LLCs)
- civil procedure
- constitutional law
- contracts, including UCC Article 2 sales
- criminal law and procedure
- ethics and professional responsibility
- evidence
- family law
- real property, including real estate finance
- tax (federal income)
- torts
- UCC Articles 1 (general provisions), 2 (sales)
