Idaho
The Idaho State Bar releases a topics list of issues that can be on their bar exam. They also release an interesting document aimed at directing those who draft the essay questions. Idaho does not release essay questions to the public on-line, although they are willing to sell copies of exams dating back to 2000.
The Idaho Bar exam, a 2½-day exam, consists of: the six-hour Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), weighted 33%; six 30-minute Multistate Essay Examination (MEE) questions, weighted 25%; two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) problems, weighted 17%; four 45-minute Idaho Essay questions, weighted 25%.
The successful applicant must score 70% of all possible points on the examination as a whole. Applicants also must pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) with a scaled score of 85 either before, or within 2 MPRE administrations after, the bar examination.
The following subjects may be tested on the Idaho bar exam:
- business organizations (agency & partnership, corporations, LLCs)
- civil procedure (federal OR Idaho)
- community property (Idaho)
- conflict of laws
- constitutional law
- contracts, including UCC Art. 2 sales
- criminal law and procedure
- equitable remedies (remedies)
- ethics (professional responsibility) (Idaho OR ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct)
- evidence (federal OR Idaho)
- family law (Idaho)
- real property, including Idaho water rights and real estate finance
- torts
- UCC Articles 1 (general provisions), 2 (sales), 3 (negotiable instruments), 9 (secured transactions) (Idaho)
- wills, estates, trusts (decedents’ estates and trusts, future interests) (Idaho).
