The Arizona Bar exam, a 2-day exam, consists of

• the six-hour Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), weighted 33%; and
• twelve 30-minute Arizona essay questions, weighted 67%.

Successful applicants must have receive a minimum combined score of 410 out of 600 possible points. The applicant also must pass the MPRE with a scaled score of 85 within 3 years of the bar examination.

The following subjects may be tested on the Arizona bar exam:

• civil procedure (Arizona and federal)
• community property
• constitutional law (Arizona and federal)
• contracts, including UCC Article 2 sales
• corporations, partnerships, and other business organizations (business associations)
• criminal law
• criminal procedure
• evidence
• professional responsibility
• real property, including real estate finance
• torts
• trusts (wills, trusts, and estates)
• Uniform Commercial Code Articles 1 (general provisions), 2 (sales), 3 (negotiable instruments), 9 (secured transactions)
• wills.

Arizona has one of the least transparent bar exams in the country. According to their FAQ page, “Questions from selected prior examinations are available, with sample answers, for a fee of $30 per set. Please mail your request to the Committee on Examinations and include a check. These guides are copyright protected and can only be released to current applicants and unsuccessful applicants, and may not be used for any commercial purpose.”
